knitta, please

I have officially become "that girl". That's right... I have become the girl who makes her own clothes.

No, I still can't use a sewing machine.
Yes, that only means one thing... I knit my own clothes.

This was my first experience in garments and I have to sheepishly admit... I kind of like the way it turned out. This pattern features a simple lace across the front (or back--it can be worn either way) and simple stitches to let the lace shine.

Thoughts? Stick to my day job? ;)

Mornin'

Mornin', ya'll.

This is all I plan to do this morning. And I'm going to savor every moment.

Happy Sunday!

New Texico Vacation :)

We have returned from a wonderful extended weekend in Texas and New Mexico (aka New Texico)! We didn't do much of anything, but it was exactly what we wanted and needed.

We arrived in Amarillo Thursday afternoon and spent the evening there seeing friends and family. The next morning we loaded up and headed to New Mexico to spend a few days at the cabin. We had a wonderful time shopping, walking around the city, hanging out and just getting some much needed relaxation. :) It was a tough reality heading into work on Tuesday morning.

Just a few pictures from the trip. Enjoy!

it's what the sunflowers do.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It's what sunflowers do.

My little patio is about to be in bloom with these guys. My only hope is that they hold off until we are home from our vacation!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Said No Designer Ever

That pretty much sums it up!

My lack of posting from the last week has come from an obscene work schedule. Last week was downright exhausting and I am slowly starting to feel human again this week.
Thursday afternoon our firm is participating in a day at the races. Hard to believe it’s been a year since our first racetrack experience. Nontheless, I intend to sip some more mint julep and unwind from a crazy stressful week.
Happy Wednesday!
